As the youngest of three daughters of two Assemblies of God ministers, Coleen grew up in the parsonage. She spent her childhood in Alaska and met her husband, Larry, at North Central University where they were both preparing for ministry. They were married on June 9, 1967. In 1977, she graduated from McKendree College in Lebanon IL and taught school for 10 years.
Coleen and Larry served as pastors in Joliet IL for 19 years before Larry assumed the position of Assistant Superintendent in the District Office in 1997. He was elected District Superintendent in 2002.
Coleen’s passions have always been missions, teaching Bible studies, and ministering to women. The Griswolds have two adult children: Todd and his wife, Kristy (3 children), and Terri, who is a student.
