In continuation of a tradition started several years ago, the first official event of the Illinois District Council will be a Ministerial Enrichment Session on Monday afternoon, starting at 2 p.m. in the Crowne Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza (2nd floor). Featured speaker is Dr. Gary Denbow, President of Central Bible College. He will speak on the topic, "Preaching That Communicates."
Dr. Denbow assumed the presidency of Central Bible College at the start of the fall 2005 semester. He is the ninth president of CBC, the ministry training college of the Assemblies of God since 1922. Dr. Denbow has been a church planter, senior pastor (most recently concluding 24 years at Christian Chapel in Columbia MO), missionary, educator, district youth director and assistant superintendent of the Northern Missouri District. He served as senior pastor of Christian Chapel in Columbia for 20 years, taught in St. Louis public schools, and pioneered and pastored churches in Missouri. As a missionary in the Philippines, he taught and served in the administration of several Bible schools and pastored the Holy Spirit Fellowship in Quezon City. Dr. Denbow has served the Northern Missouri District as Finance Committee chair, assistant superintendent, world missions director, and district and general presbyter. After a lifelong ministry, Dr. Denbow gets real joy from investing his energies into raising up a new generation of workers for the Lord’s harvest.
