Our Spanish ministry began around 2001 with a vision given by God to Pastor Banks. Since then, this ministry hasn't stopped growing. From the beginning, our Spanish congregation has been a place where several Hispanic countries have been represented, with people from seven or eight different Spanish countries in Latin America. This has brought such an enrichment and flavor to our church. Our congregation has had the force for evangelism that distinguishes the Spanish church in general, everywhere it’s found.

This congregation was also founded with an interest in the mission field. The support of missions has been a great learning experience for our Hispanic members. Many of them were never involved nor taught the importance that missions has in the heart of God.

Ministering under one same roof has helped us to learn better ways of relating with cultures that are different from ours in many ways. Nevertheless, we have learned to live and mingle with other cultures, just as Heaven will be like. Learning to set aside our differences hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been very rewarding, especially as we see the kingdom of God expand and grow.

Throughout our 12 years, many people have come to know God and His son Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. As a result, lives have been changed and marriages have been healed. In addition, several ministries have begun such as drama, single adults, seniors, evangelistic teams, and couples. These teams give our members the opportunity to participate in the service unto our God in whatever way they find feasible.

However, these are not the only ways they have opportunity to serve God. We also must include those who work with children, the praise and worship team, ushers, etc. In our Hispanic congregation, we place great value on our youth and offer opportunities for them to be involved in the services through singing, playing instruments, and drama.

The hand of God has been great upon us, blessing us with growth in all the different groups. Our singles group began with 6 members and has grown to 25. Our seniors have also increased in number. We offer four home cell Bible studies south, north, and west of Maranatha Chapel. These places give us opportunities to develop new leadership, new ways of outreach, and new ways of growth.
