SUMMARY
The Children’s Pastor leads and shepherds the children of River City Church. They will lead the volunteer teams responsible for all aspects of ensuring spiritual growth and development of kids ages birth through 5th grade. This includes curriculum selection, volunteer recruitment and development, classroom management, and operational management necessary to ensure successful, continuously improving weekend children￢ﾀﾙs services and periodic special events.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
1. Contributes as a member of the Pastor/Elder team in developing ministry planning
2. Lead River City Kids (RCK) teams as the shepherd and technical-proficient leader, providing for training and relationship building to happen outside the Sunday and Wednesday environments. Recruits, coaches, and assigns volunteers to staff each ministry environment.
3. As an active member of River City Church, looks for opportunities to integrate ministries with River City Kids ministry
4. Engages the church on parenting-related issues, and looks for additional opportunities for ministry with them.
5. Equips the River City Kids teams with appropriate materials in a timely manner, prior to regular environments or special events, ensuring that they are planned at an appropriate pace.
6. Oversee the usage of all systems and equipment necessary ￢ﾀﾓ relevant for River City Kids – for accomplishing the worship environment goals and expectations. And communicates needs or budget expenditure requests to Lead Pastor.
7. Oversee and ensure all River City Kids elements are ready and excellent for our different ministry environments, including special events.
8. Report a weekly summary of the River City Kids experience to appropriate audiences
9. Finds opportunities for innovation, efficiency gain, and general improvements for the River City Kids area; while also providing actionable feedback to other ministry areas as appropriate. Solicits and engages ￢ﾀﾜexperts￢ﾀﾝ as required
QUALIFICATIONS
-Active member of River City Church (Upon hire).
-Attends at least one corporate worship experience each month
-Strong, experienced leader and shepherd
-3-5 years of experience in a family ministry environment, incorporating children and youth, and leading or directly supporting leadership (preferred but not requried)
-Open, friendly, spiritually positive and welcoming communicator (written, verbal, and face to face) with all visitors, members, and staff; capable of practicing discretion and confidentiality.
-Ability to recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for River City Kids team roles
-Must be proficient, or well familiar, with all tools necessary for the efficiency and excellence of the River City Kids team.
WORKING CONDITIONS
-Primarily in worship experiences that will require constant movement, involved in physical tasks related to set-up and tear-down, and interacting with the congregation and other River City Kids and River City Youth team members
