Bethel Assembly of God is accepting resumes for the lead pastor position. We are seeking a Lead Pastor who is called to shepherd a multigenerational family of believers, who has a desire to reach its membership and community through a Christ-centered ministry. Our pastor of 16 years has semi-retired to spend more time with his family.
Bethel Assembly of God is a Spirit-filled congregation. We are a God-honoring church that believes the Bible is the central foundation for understanding the world. The average attendance of Bethel is 132 people. Bethel Church has a love for souls within the church and community. We strive for excellence in ministries for all age groups, and a new bus ministry has recently started. Our mission statement is: loving God, loving people, and loving life.
Bethel was founded in 1928 in downtown Rock Island as an independent church, and became affiliated with the Assemblies of God in 1940. There have been 15 pastors who have ministered to the congregation. Bethel is currently in its third building and is debt-free.
The ￢ﾀﾜQuad Cities￢ﾀﾝ is a vibrant community located on the Mississippi River bordering Illinois and Iowa. There is a combined population of approximately 400,000 people. The Quad Cities is the international headquarters of John Deere. The Quad Cities offers the Adler Theatre, Circa 21, Spotlight Theatre, Quad City Symphony and Ballet Company, The Mark, Rock Island County Fairgrounds and Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. There are several team sporting events year-round, restaurants, coffee shops and shopping. There are many public and private schools for children that are inclusive of family and community participation. There are Blackhawk and Scott Community Colleges as well as Western, Augustana, and St. Ambrose that are 4-year colleges.
All applicants are required to be a fully ordained minister in good standing with the Assemblies of God. We are looking for someone to help advance our ministries in building God￢ﾀﾙs kingdom through supporting our ministry leaders and developing a ministry team.
